Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital lights up with X BRICKs

To celebrate the 2nd ‘Day of Care Safety‘ promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO), all the main cities of Emilia Romagna have lit up orange a building symbol of their excellence in the health field. Bologna chose the Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital – the largest hospital complex in the city and one of the most important in Italy.

The facade lighting project for Pavilion 23 has been appointed to Radio Sata Service, and Luca Tagliavini described the lighting installation.

“The lighting design for this installation was carried out by Sean Cattani. Due the imposing front of the Pavilion 23 the designer needed a very bright and evenly-diffused lighting to obtain a disruptive effect.
For that reason, were chosen the color changers projectors DTS’ BRICK and X BRICK controlled with an Avolites Quartz.
For an optimal color rendering we selected the shade of orange, the symbol color of the event, which best integrated with the colorimetry of the façade.
When we activated the system at sunset, the effect was spectacular; we really ‘set fire’ the façade.”
