X Factor Malta
32 Katana, 20 Nick NRG 1201, 25 Brick and 125 Raptor. This was the DTS lighting equipment supplied by AMG to set up the X Factor Malta stage.
After a full-stop year, last January the X-Factor live show in Malta started again.
X Factor is a singing contest format that in recent years has been a big success in every European country. Four dates of the live shows scheduled in Malta (16 – 23 – 30 January and 6 February), preceded by the selections and eliminations sessions, ended with the evening of the final –aired on February 12, 2022. For this third edition the event nights were a true captivating show (organized in compliance with all the Covid regulations in force).
The X Factor format has imposed itself thanks to a winning formula: a show full of great talents, a jury at the same time severe and fun, a respectable award and undoubtedly the care of the set up. The format, in every country in which it is broadcasted, shares the spectacularism of the sets and lighting programming that makes each exhibition unique and truly captivating.
As for the Italian edition, AMG International, one of the largest technical services at national level, has work together the company Nexos in lighting equipments supplying. More than 200 units provided for the set up were branded DTS, the Italian professional lighting company with which AMG has been successfully collaborating for years.
“For us the experience of X-Factor Malta is the first step towards the future we are building for AMG. A future that sees us as a reference partner not only for national realities, but also for foreign ones, which turn to us for technical set-up and for design. We are working to overturn the idea of service as we know it today, going towards a dimension subsequent to that of the rental company. We are excited to work on this great project of ours.” Said Alex Vinciguerra, Owner di AMG International.
Sergio Cattaneo, the entrusted light designer of the project, commented about choosing DTS fixtures:
“For me it’s always a winning choice to work with DTS, and I admit that I am somewhat faithful to this Company.
For the Malta’s X Factor lighting set-up, I chose the Katana because of its uniqueness: it’s in fact the only projector that guarantees a well-defined geometry. As for the Raptor it is for me a beam light that, thanks to its powerful lamp, always gives you that edge. An essential solution for those like me who use lots of beams along with frosted light as well, a nice trick that allows you to have a different design for each cue!”
Raffaella Scaccia, DTS Sales Director, commented on reaching new goals in partnership with AMG:
“We work internationally with our partners since 1980, but it’s a pleasure to break the boundaries at the side of an historical Italian partner like AMG. We hope to continue to support AMG in its future projects giving them always the most performing and quality products. In the meantime, DTS is going forward with the renewal process undertaken some years ago. We believe that changes are necessary as a representation of the industry ongoing evolution.”
