All Soprano ellipsoidal projectors, regardless of power and LED technology, are equipped with an optical system that allows direct interaction between three focal planes that can be used and combined with various available accessories.
This configuration makes it possible to project two overlapping gobos simultaneously, adjusting the focus to achieve the desired result. In theatrical settings, a typical application is to combine the foliage effect with a geometric gobo (such as a window frame). One of the two gobos can also be indexed, allowing its tilt to be manually adjusted independently of the other planes, for maximum accuracy.
Or, the iris can be used to reduce the projection area (to less than 10%) and overlay a gobo, enabling the operator to adjust the blur point between features.
Frost filter support can be combined with both gobo and iris to soften any nuance in the image. Focus can be used to modulate the effect, softening or accentuating it at the desired level.
The variations shown, which share two of the three focal planes, can be further shaped using the four blades of the third focal plane.
Once the desired silhouette is defined, it can be rotated using the barrel rotation system (zoom and focus lens system). Available zooms include options of 8-20°, 15-30° and 25-50°. After positioning the projection, the two zoom and focus adjustment systems can be locked securely with a knob system to prevent movement.
Primary control of light mixing, generated by both monochromatic COB chips (3000K, 4000K and 5700K fixed whites) and six-color LED chips (in HDW and HQS versions), makes all these operations possible. With six-color technology, the effect achieved in combining planes and focus remains unchanged even with color changes.
Completing the range of accessories are rotating barndoors with 4 or 8 fins, compatible with all ellipsoidal projectors in the line.
